  • Fabian Bifaretti Zanetto
    Chief Executive Officer

    Fabian Bifaretti joined the Sports World team as Chief Executive Officer in July 2012. He has more than 20 years’ experience in management, sales and marketing. For more than 18 years he worked at Telefónica Internacional, where at his last post he served as CEO of Telefónica Móviles México (Movistar), where he increased the customer base, market share, and operating margin. Fabian is a Public Accountant from the Universidad Nacional de la Plata in Argentina. In his current post he combines his professional activities with his passion for sports. He has participated in several marathons, triathlons, and Ironman internationally, and in the ultramarathon of the Tarahumara mountain range in Chihuahua, México.

  • Roberto Cayetano Jiménez Celorio
    Chief Financial Officer

    Roberto Cayetano Jiménez Celorio holds a Business Administration bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE). With more than twelve years of experience in the financial sector; his professional career includes activities such as structuring and issuing debt transactions in the Mexican public market (BMV), among others.

  • Armando Alduenda
    Operations and Customer Experience Director

    Armando Alduenda joined Sports World in January 2015. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the management of operational, commercial and sales areas. His professional career stands out for having occupied management positions in companies such as Nextel, Telefónica and Cloud Mobile where he was able to develop new distribution channels, increase market penetration and design, implement and manage business strategies. He has a degree and a postgraduate degree in marketing by the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior de Mexicali.

  • Cynthia Lisette Ulloa Ayón
    Director, Human Resources

    Cynthia Ulloa joined Sports World in 2006 and has 23 years’ experience, basically in HR planning, management, operations, design, and implementation of personnel processes and in the execution, supervision, and monitoring of talent programs. Currently she is actively involved in the process for attracting talent, handling personnel, compensations and benefits, training, labor relations, and in all activities having to do with HR. Before joining Sports World, Cynthia was Training and Development Manager at entertainment companies, and Deputy Director of Human Resources at OCESA Corporación Interamericana de Entretenimiento, S.A.B. de C.V., one of the leading entertainment companies in Latin America. Cynthia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) as well as several postgraduate studies in Human Development.

  • Humberto Laguna Herrera
    Real Estate Development Director

    Humberto Laguna has over 20 years’ work experience. He began his professional career at Grupo ICA, where he participated in the construction of road infrastructure in Mexico City. Afterwards, he worked at construction companies focused on real-estate development and building gas stations. In 2000, he was named Construction Manager in the Development Division at Yum Restaurants International, and contributed to the construction and start-up of more than 160 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in Northern and Central Mexico. In 2006, he joined Sports World as Deputy Director for Construction to participate in the first stage of the growth in new clubs during which 8 new clubs were opened in two years. In 2009, he joined the Tiendas Extra convenience store division at Grupo Modelo as the head of construction and opening of new stores all over the country, with more than 300 new stores opened in 2 years. Humberto came back to Sports World in 2011 to head the construction team during the new expansion phase. Humberto obtained his title as a Civil Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in 1989 and holds an MBA from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

  • Hadi M. Ibrahim Ibrahim
    General Councel

    Hadi M. Ibrahim joined the Sports World team in November 2016. He holds a degree in Law by Anahuac University, a major in Corporate Law by Iberoamericana University and a Managerial Skills Diploma by Anahuac University. Hadi has over 10 years’ work experience in Legal Areas, within the Telecommunications and Services sector.

  • Fernando Guzmán López
    Commercial Director

    Fernando Guzmán joined Sports World in September 2012 and is currently responsible for the commercial and client experience area. He has 3 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, 5 years in the international academic-diplomatic arena, and 5 years in consumer products. He has collaborated at public companies such as Telefónica Movistar, Gillette, Procter & Gamble, and Oracle. Fernando is a Systems Engineer from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), and has a Master’s Degree in International Business and another in International Relations, by Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

  • Andrea Zullo Fossa
    Commercial and Customer Experience Director

    Andrea Zullo joined Sports World in May 2014 as Director, Commercial and Operations, Southern Region. He has more than 17 years’ experience in the operations, information technologies, telecommunications, market research, and commercial divisions, among others. He has worked at companies such as Dridco México, Movistar México, Public Telephony & Number Portability, Ascom de México S.A. de C.V. and Electronic Data System de México, S.A. de C.V. Andrea holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering by the University of Boston.

  • Héctor Antonio Troncoso Navarro
    Chairman and Proprietary Member of the Board

    Héctor Antonio Troncoso has over 25 years’ experience in the fitness industry and has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sports World since its inception. He began his work in the fitness industry in Mexico in 1988, when he participated in building and opening Club Tarango (currently Sports World Centenario). In 1996, he founded Grupo Sports World and was responsible for creating, designing and opening the Company’s next five sports clubs. He is a member of the CMR Board, which is part of Grupo MVS, and of Little Caesars in Mexico, North Zone. Héctor studied Hotel Management and Tourism at the Escuela Panamericana de Hotelería, specializing in Business Administration in the Tourism Field.

  • Héctor Madero Rivero
    Proprietary Member

    Héctor Madero Rivero serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corporacion Actinver SAB de CV. He has held these posts since 1996. In addition, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Banco Actinver SA, a subsidiary of the Company, on January 1, 2011. He acts also as Member of the Company's Risks Committee and Chairman of the Remuneration and Investment Committees.

    From 1991 to 1993, he acted as Chairman of Inverlat Internacional and, from 1993 to 1995, he served as Chairman of Bursamex Internacional Casa de Bolsa (United States Broker Dealer) and was Deputy General Director of International Area at Bursamex Casa de Bolsa.

    He graduated in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM).

  • José Pedro Valenzuela Rionda

    José Pedro Valenzuela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Iberoamericana. He served as Vice-President for Bancomer International in New York City from 1993 to 1994, and as President for Bursamex International from 1994 to 1996. He began working at Corporación Actinver, S.A.B. de C.V. in 1996, and has held different positions including President of Actinver Securities, Director for Alterna Asesoría y Análisis, and he currently holds the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

  • Cosme A. Torrado Martínez

    Cosme Alberto Torrado Martinez serves as Managing Director of the Latin American Unit and Member of the Board of Directors of Alsea S.A.B. de C.V. Besides being part of the Board of Directors of Grupo Sports World S.A.B. de C.V., Grupo Actinver S.A. de C.V., Seguros Axxa S. A. de C.V., Grupo Diniz S.A. de C.V. and Intellego S.C.

    Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and as Chief Executive Officer of Alsea S.A.B. de C.V., he was Chief Executive Officer of Distribuidor Internacional de Alimentos S. A. de C.V., co-founded Torrquin, S. A. de C.V., and Proyecto y Actividad Internacional, S.A. de C.V.

    Cosme holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM) and he is a graduate of the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE).

  • Fabián Gerardo Gosselin Castro

    Fabián Gosselin es miembro del Consejo de Administración de Alsea S.A.B. de C.V. desde el año 2006. Fabián fue el primer franquiciatario de Burger King en México. Desde octubre de 2010 y hasta el 2018 fungió como Director General de Alsea. Anteriormente, llevó la Dirección General de OFA y el SCA y fue Director Ejecutivo del Centro de Servicios Compartidos (CSC).

  • Alfredo Sánchez Torrado
    Independent Member

    Alfredo Sánchez Torrado serves on the Board of Directors of several companies, and is a member of their Audit and Compensations committees. He has participated in numerous tax seminars both in Mexico and abroad and has written several articles on fiscal issues for different Mexican and foreign publications. He has taught courses on Mexican and foreign taxation at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA).

    In 1991 he joined the law firm CHEVEZ, RUIZ, ZAMARRIPA Y CIA., S.C., where he became a partner in January of 2001. He has over twenty years’ experience in Mexican and international tax-related issues.

    He is a member of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos de México, of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IMEF), and of its National Fiscal Technical Committee. He is also a member of the Mexican Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

    Alfredo is a Certified Public Accountant by the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He has postgraduate studies in international taxation from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and from Harvard University. He also took the Silver and Blue Courses on International Taxation at the Shelton International Tax Training Institute.

  • Víctor Manuel Barreiro García Conde

    Since 2009 Victor M. Barreiro has been a partner and Vice-President of Development and Operations at the investment and real estate development fund Mexico Retail Properties (MRP). Since 2010 he has also been a partner of the investment fund Infraestructura Institucional, which has issued two CKD’s in the national institutional market. With the resources from the CKD’s he has made investments in the road, health, prison, and oil exploration sectors.

    From 2004 to 2009 he served as Residential Director at GICSA, one of the leading companies in the real estate market in the country, where he was a member of the Managing Committee and participated in the planning and project management for several divisions in the company.

    Before GICSA, he was a partner and Deputy Director General of Desarrolladora Metropolitana, one of the fastest growing companies in the social and medium-income market. He was a partner and Director for Operations at Tolver for 4 years, where he developed and operated the Burger King franchises.

    Since 2014 he has been a mentor at Endeavor, and for the past 25 years Victor M. Barreiro has been in charge of planning, selection, land negotiation, management, architectural design, construction, marketing, general coordination, and operation of real restate projects.

    Victor M. Barreiro holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Anáhuac and postgraduate studies from IPADE.

  • Luis David Prados Platas

    Luis es Licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y Posgrado en Alta Dirección por UIP. Comenzó su carrera en Grupo Prisa en España (1995), donde se desempeñó como Jefe de Publicidad del Diario AS, Director Comercial de Canal Satétite Digital o Director Comercial de Sogecable entre otras responsabilidades.

    En 2002 es destinado a Chile como Director Comercial y de Marketing del Consorcio Radial de Chile y Director de Estrategia de Grupo Prisa. En 2004 llega a México como Director de Marketing de Televisa Radio, donde además tuvo la responsabilidad de Nuevos Negocios y Relaciones Institucionales.

    En 2011 entra en NRM Comunicaciones como Director de Relaciones institucionales, Nuevos Negocios y Estrategia, hasta 2013, cuando funda LP&A Consulting, especializada en desarrollo de nuevas unidades de negocio y estrategia. Entre otros clientes trabajó para Sports World, ATP Tennis World Tour, Publicis Groupe, Clear Channel o Telefónica.

    En julio de 2014 asume como Chief Executive Officer de ZenithOptimedia México, Agencia de medios de Publicis Groupe, puesto en el que se desempeñará hasta septiembre de 2016. Desde entonces ostenta la responsabilidad de Director General de Clear Channel México.

  • Patricia Guerra Menéndez

    Ejecutiva y Atleta de Alto Rendimiento con experiencia en el liderazgo y profesionalización de la gestión de fundaciones vinculadas a salud, planeación estratégica y consultoría en temas de responsabilidad social y creación e implementación de campañas de comunicación. Actualmente ocupa el cargo de Directora General de Fundación IMSS. Conferencista con más de 300 ponencias impartidas y Coach Ejecutivo con certificación internacional. Nadadora de aguas abiertas: tercera mexicana en cruzar el Canal de la Mancha. Embajadora de Special Olympics para Latinoamérica.

  • Omar Nacif Serio

    Omar Nacif has been a member of the Board at Sports World since 2005. He currently holds the post of CEO of the largest forest and plank production project in Mexico. Prior to his current occupation, he was CEO and Director of Operations at Sports World, from 2002 to 2008.

    Before joining the Company, he worked as Director, E-Commerce for Grupo Elektra and he was portfolio manager at BBVA Bancomer Investments.

    Omar holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Economy by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

  • Xavier Mangino Dueñas
    Secretay, not a Member of the Board

    He is the founding partner of Díaz de Rivera y Mangino, S.C., where he currently works, and he serves as Secretary at several public and private companies. He mainly specializes in corporate, real estate, and stock market law, among others, and teaches Commercial Law I at the Universidad Panamericana.

    Xavier holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and post-graduate studies in the fields of Commercial Law, Economic and Corporate Law, and Tax Law from the Universidad Panamericana.

¿Quién es Grupo Sports World?

GSW es una de las empresas líderes en la industria del fitness en México. La empresa fue constituida en 1996 e inició sus operaciones en las instalaciones del antiguo Club Tarango en donde se incorporó un nuevo e innovador concepto enfocado a brindar servicios de fitness a todos los miembros de una familia. Este concepto fue visualizado y creado por el actual director general de la empresa, el Sr. Hector Troncoso. A la fecha (Junio 2015) la empresa cuenta con 44 clubes en operación, los cuales están enfocados en atender las diferentes necesidades de fitness de las familias mexicanas.

¿Cuáles son las características más destacables de la industria del fitness en México?

La industria en la que participa GSW es una de las más fragmentadas y con menor penetración en el sector del consumo discrecional. De acuerdo con la IHRSA (International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association), la asociación más reconocida a nivel mundial de la industria fitness, en México existen apenas 6.5 clubes deportivos por cada 100k habitantes comparado con los 18.4 y 15.7 clubes por cada 100k habitantes que existen en países como Argentina y Brasil respectivamente. De igual manera en México únicamente el 2.3% de la población asiste a un club deportivo, muy por debajo del 3.9% de la población Brasileña o el 6.5% de la población Argentina. Sin embargo, existe una clara tendencia en nuestro país que indica que los mexicanos cada vez están más conscientes por vivir una vida sana, lo cual nos llevará a alcanzar cifras parecidas a las de otros países.

¿Qué beneficios tangibles brinda su servicio a los usuarios que hacen uso cotidiano de él?

Independientemente de alcanzar sus metas de sentirse y verse mejor, el hacer ejercicio cotidianamente lleva a una reducción del 40% en la probabilidad de sufrir una enfermedad cardiaca, una reducción del 27% en la probabilidad de sufrir un infarto, una disminución del 50% en casos de alta presión arterial, diabetes y diferentes canceres, de acuerdo con cifras oficiales de IHRSA.

¿Cuándo eligen una nueva ubicación para un club en que aspectos se fijan?

Este es un proceso vital para nuestro negocio y se pone un gran énfasis en diferentes aspectos de cada ubicación sin embargo, algunos de los más destacables son:
Tipo de zona, demanda y oferta de servicios relacionados, densidad demográfica, nivel socioeconómico y vías de acceso.

¿En donde se está llevando a cabo la expansión de la empresa?

Por lo pronto la empresa se está enfocando principalmente en consolidar su presencia en la ciudad de México y zona metropolitana, sin embargo también hemos estado creciendo al interior de la república.
